Ajakan tersebut dilatarbelakangi masyarakat Indonesia, yang terpolarisasi sejak Pemilu 2014, "Bangsa Indonesia terpecah akibat politik identitas," ungkapnya. Menurut Zulhas polarisasi dan perpecahan itu tidak baik untuk masa depan Indonesia. Untuk itu, ia mendorong LDII menjadi pelopor persatuan antaranak bangsa. “Ini adalah tahun politik, LDII harus menjadi pelopor, walaupun sudah menjadi pelopor untuk memperkuat persatuan kita. Informasi tentang LDII sendiri sudah ditayangkan di internet dengan alamat Ketiga tentang penjelasan atas isuisu negatif seputar LDII. Isi dari buku direktori ini dikelompokkan menjadi tiga bagian, yaitu Untuk kemudahan, ayat-ayat Al-Quran maupun Al-Hadits yang digunakan sebagai referensi ditulis sebagai catatan kaki footnote, sedangkan dalil-dalil secara lengkap dalam huruf Arab diletakkan sebagai lampiran. Pertama tentang Ormas Islam; LDII sebagai Kedua tentang ibadah dan ukhuwah persaudaraan; dan Buku ini ditujukan untuk keluarga besar LDII dan masyarakat luas lainnya, dengan maksud untuk tabayyun, memberikan penjelasan kepada masyarakat luas mengenai LDII, dalam rangka meningkatkan rasa ukhuwwah islamiyyah persaudaraan sesama muslim, ukhuwwah basyariyyah persaudaraan sesama manusia, serta ukhuwwah wathoniyyah persaudaraan sesama warga negara. Meskipun buku ini meru- pakan edisi ketiga, disadari kemungkinan tetap masih ada kesalahan-kesalahan. Oleh karena itu mohon maaf jika masih banyak terdapat kekurangan. Masukan dan saran dalam rangka penyempurnaan buku ini akan sangat kami hargai dan merupakan bagian aset dari buku ini. Semoga bermanfaat.
